Dale’s teaching experience spanned over 36 years and he was recently awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his years of service to the Art Dept of MIU. During this time Dale encouraged many students to reach for greater heights in their own personal and artistic development. Teaching by example, he always worked along with the students. He received the outstanding faculty awards several times: As one student wrote on the website, “Rate Your Professor “, “He is a great man and a brilliant artist. He will challenge you to do your best, but you will learn a great deal.” Teaching in light of Consciousness Based Education is profoundly rewarding for the professor as well as the students.                                                                                                                       

The main focus of Dale’s teaching was Figurative Sculpture & Drawing. A popular course was, “Art and Nature”, which focused on experience and creative expression based on observations of the form and function of nature.
