With all the attention put on the rose, it seemed only fair to give some attention to the one that inspired the Rose-Labyrinth series – the beetle. As Dale’s entomological research progressed, so did his fondness and admiration for the wonderful variety of the shapes and colors of beetles. Intrigued, he designed and produced 20 ceramic sculptures, which ranged from 12 to 16 inches, as limited editions of four each:

Ceramic Beetles were displayed in a two person exhibit in the Natural History Hall of the Smithsonian Institute.
